In the UK in 2009 alone, over 200 local sports clubs and community groups were forced to fold due to the economic downturn and ongoing financial crisis.

Bag4sport Ltd was born out of the dilema that many grass roots organisations face, originally sports clubs, when trying to raise vital cash for their projects, equipment, sponsorship, and day to day survival. 

The founders of Bag4sport are keen supporters of grass roots sport. They considered various ways of addressing this problem, and found that the revenue generated from the textile recycling market could be directly used to help sports clubs, individuals and community organisations in dire straits.
